What's all the buzz about? It's that time of year when you're sitting outside, enjoying a meal under the sun, then you cringe in fear (at least I do) as you hear that buzzing noise in your personal bubble. You freeze, hoping it will leave, but sounds buzzer closer and closer. You want to swat it so bad yet refrain or get stung. Bee-lieve it, God designed bees for a much greater purpose, to repoll enate the beautiful flowers and plants, herbs, veggies we all crave. The UN designated today World Bee Day to draw awareness to the fact that bees are dying off in masses. Healthy foods are going to become limited without these precious pollinators. As annoying as, one may find them, they have a unique role in our fragile ecosystem. To help our communities thrive with the hive, let's fly for our mental clarity and physical health to improve the lives of bees. First, by bee-ing outside, benefitting both bees and you. Garden, plant different species in your own backyard. If you have too many bees near your living space, find a plant or two that deters them naturally. It's a pain to pull weeds, but those pesticides can bee toxic for both bees and you! Secondly, easily place a bowl of water outside to hydrate them. Thirdly, there's no better sweet than purchasing honey straight from the source, your local farms. While getting your bees sweets, share with the farmer about planting a variety of plants surrounding the perimeter of the fields.
